The Cod. Ⅰ.6.2º.2 is a compilation of two German fencing manuals bound together by Paulus Hector Mair some time after 1564.[1] The original currently rests in the holdings of the Universitätsbibliothek Augsburg in Augsburg, Germany. The first half of the manuscript is a treatise written by Jörg Wilhalm in 1523.[2] It seems to be another redaction of the teachings of Johannes Liechtenauer, but unlike the glosses of the previous century, Wilhalm's work is fully illustrated. The second half is a much later work by Lienhart Sollinger dated to 1564.[3] Sollinger's manuscript is a mostly-compete hand-written copy of Andre Paurenfeyndt's printed book Ergrundung Ritterlicher Kunst der Fechterey, with additional content from the Goliath Fechtbuch (1535-40).
