I started HEMA in April of 2016 back in Urbana-Champaign at the university's HEMA club. In 2017 co-founded and was the instructor at Springfield Historical Fencing, a chapter of the Meyer Freifechter Guild based in Springfield, IL. Since 2021, I am a member of Bucks Historical Longsword in the Philadelphia area. I studied Meyer's 1570 work, skimmed the 1568, and read several glosses of Ringeck, Pseudo-Danzig, and Lew. During the pandemic between 2020-2021, I transcribed and translated Henry de Sainct Didier's sword treatise, and in the spring I transcribed André des Bordes's work. I enjoyed translating, but it would take another pandemic for me to take on another project.
