  1. These umlaut-like dots appear on a few other pages, where they indicate words that should be read as a pair, but here the marked words are not the same case or number. Interestingly, on this page it looks like the dots were written by the original scribe (for example, the dots over the a in spataeque have the same faded look as the a). However, appearing on so few pages, these dots don't seem to be part of the overall orthographic style of the manuscript.
