I've been practicing HEMA since Halloween 2021 with Iron Gate Swordfighting in Fresno, CA. I've started practicing another sword art every autumn since. I've fallen head over heels for martial arts, and changed careers to pursue PT as a vehicle for being a better student of martial arts. I am concurrently pursuing an Italian studies minor based primarily around language classes in order to be a better student of L'Arte d'Armizare.

I started trying to interpret Fiore myself in my first year of HEMA. I have spent the last two years completing translations and interpretations of Fiore, Vadi, Marozzo, Alfieri, and every other Italian source on the sword in two hands I could find, which will be published alongside broad and narrow analysis of the sources as a textbook for Iron Gate and other interested persons in 2026.
