  1. Of this page, Hans-Peter Hils writes in Johann Liechtenauer art of the long sword (p 63) as follows: "The manuscript is the oldest known work of Talhoffer and presumably his first work. It was evidently at least temporarily in his possession, given a painted banner on fol. 1r (which is now only readable when the page is held against the light): 'Daz bůch is maister hanssen talhoffersz.' The last three letters are indeed destroyed by wormholes, but can be determined, according to the (possessive) genitive 'hanssen' and the same wording in another manuscript of the master - Ms.Thott.290.2º 103v".
