The Lectiones auf das Einfachen rappier (4º MS Mathern 038) is a German fencing manual written in 1569 by Hans Wilhelm Schöffer von Dietz.[citation needed] The original currently rests in the holdings of the Universitätsbibliothek Kassel in Kassel, Germany. It appears to be an early unillustrated draft of Schöffer's 1620 work Grůndtliche vñ eigentlichte Beschreibung der Fechtkunst.
