Trattato d'uno Schermo ("Treatise on Defense", Codex 10723) is a manuscript copy of a 16th century Italian fencing manual completed in 1551 by Angelo Viggiani dal Montone. It resides in the holdings of the Österreichische Nationalbibliothek in Vienna, Austria. This presentation copy of the treatise was completed posthumously by Viggiani's brother Battista in 1567 as a gift to Maximilian II (1527-1576), King of the Romans and later Holy Roman Emperor. According to the preface, the delay was due to Viggiani's dying wish to his brother that the treatise not be released for at least fifteen years. A print edition was ultimately published in 1575 under the title Lo Schermo ("On Defense").
