Grůndtliche vñ eigentlichte Beschreibung der Fechtkunst ("Thorough and Proper Description of the Art of Fencing") is a German fencing manual written by Hans Wilhelm Schöffer von Dietz and initially printed in 1620. The treatise presents Schöffer's version of the rapier system of his teacher Salvator Fabris; parts of the treatise are extracted from Fabris' 1606 fencing treatise almost directly, but other parts seem to represent Schöffer's original expansions of the Italian master's art.

Publication History
The first edition of Grůndtliche vñ eigentlichte Beschreibung der Fechtkunst was printed in Marburg, Germany in 1620 by Johan Saurn. It may have been reprinted in 1640, but as no copies of this edition are known to exist, the few references to it may simply be erroneous allusions to the 1620 printing.
